Why Join as a Family?
With a Family Membership, you’ll access the convenient Trip Sharing feature in the app! All users on a family membership can access vehicles reserved by another member of the household. This means that everyone can start a trip or manage bookings, even if the reservation was made by another member of the household.
Sharing a Communauto account also means shared savings! Members of the same household (living at the same address) can register together on a single account to reduce their membership fees (for Value plan holders only).
💡 Example: A family of three on the Value Extra plan pays just $37.50/month instead of $90, saving more than half the regular cost.
You’ll receive one simplified monthly invoice for the entire household, making budgeting and tracking expenses a breeze.
Terms
- The refundable membership bond for a household is $750. The monthly fee for each additional driver is $3.75/month, regardless of the plan chosen by the family.
- Family members under 19 years old are eligible to join, if they live at the same address as their parent/guardian at the time of registration.
How To Add a Co-Member
- In the Account section of your app or online account, select the Co-Members option in the menu.
- To invite a new co-member, enter their email address, click “Send” and accept the costs and conditions.
- The invitee will receive an email to register for Communauto and will need to fill out the online application.
- Once our team has reviewed their application and added them as a member, they will be added to your account as a co-member!
